Due to changing the clock back an hour, we’re too beat to come up with more than 1 cool thing this week. But it’s a REALLY cool thing, so we think it’s worth a post all by itself.
1. Secrets from Sue’s Kitchen
One of our favourite recipes is the Tomato Sauce with Butter and Onion by Smitten Kitchen author, Deb Perelman. It’s easy to make and so tasty. You can find the recipe on the Smitten Kitchen website (just click on the blue link), or you can order the book from Amazon by clicking the blue link below.
This past weekend, Sydney was visiting our good friend Sue, and she shared one of her many cooking secrets (we plan to share more of them on the blog).
Did you know that many cheese shops keep Parmesan cheese rinds around to give away to those customers in the know? And…in some places the rinds are given away for free.
Sydney and Sue made the Smitten Kitchen recipe, using La San Marzano tomatoes (they make the best sauce), then modified the recipe by adding a Parmesan rind, and enjoyed an amazing meal! Thanks Smitten Kitchen and Parmesan Sue!
